The International Billiards & Snooker Federation



The IBSF had its AGM on the 29th November 2012 and the result came as follow:

Mr. Jim Leacy (Ireland) won as President, Capt. P.V.K. Mohan (India) for Vice President, Mr. Mohammed Kammah (Egypt) for General Secretary, Mr. Michael Khoury (Syria) for Treasurer.

Latvia got the approval of the AGM to host the World Snooker Championship 2013 (Women, Men & Masters) and 3 countries bid for the 2014 World Snooker Championship: South Africa, India and Qatar. We wish South Africa best of luck.

The World Snooker Championship - Sofia 2012



The World Snooker Championship (Women, Men & Masters) that was played in Sofia, Bulgaria with the participation of 191 players from 52 countries from 4th November till 2nd December came with the following results:

  1. Bullet Muhammad Asif (Pakistan) won the men championship

  2. Bullet Wendy Jans (Belgium) won the women championship

  3. Bullet Darren Morgan (Wales) won the masters championship.

ABSF News

 The ABSF signed a contract with Egypt-Air where all African players and officials get a 20% discount on monthly air tickets for African and World championships.
 The African 6 Reds Winner and Runner-up will represent Africa in the World SangSom 6 Reds in Bangkok, Thailand.
 The African Snooker winner will represent Africa in the World Snooker Championship that will be held in Latvia 2013.
The ABSF signed a contract with A. W. Hainsworth to be the official cloth supplier for the African championships. You can buy the official cloth with a 30% discount.
The ABSF signed a contract with Saluc the famous balls manufacturer to supply G1 balls the best in the world.

Afro - Asian Cup



The ABSF is negotiating with the ACBS organizing the 1st Afro - Asian cup that will be held between the African Champion and the Asian champion together with the 2 continents runner-ups after the end of the African Snooker championship. Further details will be published soon once the agreement is signed.

The African Snooker Championships 2013



Morocco has applied to host the African Snooker and African 6 Reds in the beautiful city of Marrakech next June. 8 new Wiraka M1 will be used together with G1 Saluc balls. Invitation of the championship will be emailed to all member countries by the ABSF General Secretary Mr. Akram Elbaloula. The ABSF will invite the President of the International Billiards & Snooker Federation and Mr. Jason Ferguson Chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association.
